Verbs are words which express what we are doing or someone is doing. Example: Infinitive = (the basic form of a verb)
Verb endings change according to Personal Pronouns (Lesson: 04: Personal Pronouns -Nominative-)
If you look at the table in lesson 03-B you’ll see 1. The Infinitive of a verb always ends in –en. 2. The part or the word before –en is called the stem or the root of the verb. 3. The individual endings are added to this root of the verb. 4. Verbs used with 3rd Person Singular –er–sie–es– and 2nd Person Plural –ihr– have the 5. Verbs used with 1st Person Plural –wir-, 3rd Person Plural –sie– and the Polite Form –Sie–
They are easy to learn, as tthe endings of all verbs (regular and irregular in the Past tense)
are always the same. Look at these examples:
